Baan Oun Rak - Part 6:
My Beings (Chapter 1)
In Baan Oun Rak, children explore “My Beings” by recognizing their own positive qualities such as kindness, courage, patience and caring. Then they share their real-life experiences with their friends.
There was one child shared that, one day, she noticed her friend crying at the playground. She approached her gently, listened to her stories carefully, and offered encouragement. She told her friends that ‘It’s okay. You can start again tomorrow.’ After being heard and comforted, her friend slowly smiled again.
This simple moment shows that being a good friend is more than a kindness. It also requires courage, empathy, and patience.
The activity helps children not only recognize their own strengths, but also understand their self-worth and the positive impact from their actions can have on others. By focusing on children’s strengths, the activity supports self-confidence, emotional development and healthy social skills. It helps children grow into caring individuals who can share positivity with those around them.
